just outta curiosity is it possible to put an au onwards studpattern onto an e series? also am i right in assuming the stud pattern is the same for xk-el?

Stud pattern is the same from x series through to FG. Offset changed with the AU from +6 pre AU to +36 for AU onwards.

You will need to use Hub Adapters to run AU onwards rims. Some people are OK with Hub adapters but the cops and insurance companies aren't.
Classed as an illegal modification and will cost you a defect or worse. In the case of accident your insurance company would wipe you if they found you had Hub Adaptors. Up to you but not worth it in my opinion. Some good wheels around in pre AU offset. |

You can use an AU diff, has been done. But what do you do about the front? Rims will hit on the suspension.
