Hi Guys,

The sunroof on my car is getting a bit old and the seal is looking a bit s**t.

It doesnt leak but I would like to start thinking about replacing the seal. I just had a guy look at it (sunroof dude) and he says the seal is imposable to get.

Is there a way to get one or something like it made up?

They guy who did my sunroof tells me they are readily available. Maybe you need to find another guy to enquire about it.

I was told to expect around $300 and to be without the car for the day. The seal is glued on and needs to be reglued, and the glass realigned.

Try cleaning it out - use a plastic tool to remove any sealer between the seal and the window. They often come up nice. Then use a good urethane to reseal it.

Otherwise you'll normally end up replacing it

It isnt a factory sunroof though, the guy said the brand mine is, isnt made anymore.

Does anyone know a good place to try to find one?

No such thing as a factory sunroof.

The only TVS sunroof fitted to Falcons since EA's that I know of are Webasto / Hollandia sunroofs. Same company, just different names.

What brand is it?

Not sure, I'll go see if I can see a name on it.

I can't see any name on it, there is a white sticker that seems to have nothing printed on it stuck on the side of the glass.

The roof is very large and automatic, slides back as well as sits up at an angle.

Ask him what the brand is. As I said, Webasto/Hollandia were really the only company that made sunroofs for our cars. And I believe the only ones that made the TVS roof you have.

If Ford put on in, it was either done at then Tickford, or a sunroof joint, it would have been one of these.

I have a sunroof out of a EB Fairmont that was supplied & installed by ASC. The seal looks very generic & like something you can pickup at clarke rubber.

Cheers

I just took another look at the business card of the guy who looked at my roof, it clearly states on there that he specialises in Webasto and Hollandia sunroofs.

So I am guessing he would have known if mine was one of these.
