Yep. As trade packs they came in rolls. Something like this site in the UK does.

http://www.rubbertrim.co.uk/body_mouldings.htm

I haven't found anyone in Oz doing the same......yet!

Maybe worth contacting this mob? Not sure of the exact width required, but they seem to have a number of different widths???

Well now that i think about it the chrome strip should be a universal size, i mean the trimming on my VR Commodore look about the same size at the trimming on my LTD.
Speaking of my LTD the front window has broken and is stuck in the down position, the mechanic i took it to who apparently "fixed" the broken part did a dodgy on me and now the motor in the window is running but its not attached to anything FML!!! :@

I was going to suss this out on the weekend, but decided to spend all my earnings on alcohol instead haha. I'll check it out tonight, but i daresay its the same 30mm width as yours Georgio.

Yeah I had a feeling that they'd be the same. I was speaking with my cousin last night who has a Valiant and apparently you can't buy the trim for his Valiant anymore and the only way to fix it is to take the old trim to this shop and they'll give you reconditioned ones and what happens is that they'll take your old ones and recondition them and sell them to someone else. So its like a trade in a way, I'm thinking that if we can't find any 30mm trim we may have to see if there's anyone out there that would recondition the old ones.

Hi Guys and NC,

Been bit of a while since I posted I guess last on page 24 with pics I think. I wanted to ask those in the know re my diff. I was told by some mecanic long while back the oil seems pretty old in the diff and you might want to change it one day. Which I did. Then ever since then I have had diff noise and its getting louder since first noticing. I had a pro quote, funny enough he did ask me did you have the oil changed recently, yup I said. He then quoted me $950 for what I can only presume is a re-build. I know stuff all about diffs, can someone please advise me and how long can I let this situation go on without major breakdown? and whats best to do? Thanks muchly.

Hey Volvi,

I've got a spare in the backyard  . Do you still have the 2 LTD's or just the one now? Haven't heard of changing the diff oil causing problems, seems a bit suss to me. Just hunt around for a wreck. Shouldn't pay anymore than $250 for a second hand diff.

Cheers,
Mick

But then theres no way of knowing how reliable a diff may be from a wrecker.

I sold off the white one, kept the cardinal being the better of the 2. regos were killing me with little k's and use. Bad enough I have another bike in the shed, more f***n rego lol. If you were in Melb. wud have given your diff consideration. Ive read up some of your old post trying to keep up with you events. sold the fairlane, heavens knows why, only to buy 2 more LTD's one now wrecked.

PS. The car to date has required little if any work (been good)...except for fuel consumption about 320 ks to 62L tank. But I really dont do much ks.

Don't know what you've been reading  Still have my original Fairlane.......never selling her! I did sell my NA Sportsman a while back, but that was meant for the wife but as usual, she didn't take to it. It is now on Hire Car duties for a Limo company in Sydney......well, that was the plan anyway :P As for the only LTD I have, it turned out to be in a real mess, so yep! Decided to strip it out. I am trying to get rid of the carcus as we speak, just negotiating the sale price as a guy wants it for scrap metal. Diff will probably go with it as it will be impossible to move otherwise.

As for my Lane, she is all Fairlane now except for the grille. I have so many LTD parts here to sell off, just need to find the time to deal with it.

Cheers,
Mick
