i couldn't keep it man, rust was eating it out, the engine although it was running it was leaking like a wet p***y
as soon as i'd fix one problem another would pop up
i got some big plans for the concorde though and being a limited edition model i think its better to spend my time and money on her, that being said though i do hold a special place for the DA/NA's they're really beautiful cars

clutch cable hole. unless you're planning to convert it to manual

dont be a dodgy f**k like above... go to jaycar and buy a metal cable gland then drill a new hole and secure it safely and its also water proof. clutch cable hole is just asking for trouble

How on earth is it dodgy? (and it's certainly less dodgy than drilling holes in the firewall.

I've personally done this many times, and have seen it done by others and professional car audio shops. there's no reason not too, unless you have are are planning to go manual.

and you can keep it water proof by putting a hole through the grommet/plug.

Like so.

another place to run sub wiring to go through in ea-ed na-dc.
is through the hole that the cruise control cancel vac hose comes through.. i have used that a few times before as i either had plans of going manual or it was already manua
l
a hollowed out rubber grommet was good enough to cover the sharp edge

take it to a proper car audio comp and you will be laughed at. cable glands is the only safe way. you might protect one side of the cable but what about the inside?

do as you wish but id rather be safe in my cars

which format/comp you talking about?

MEA rules only specify a grommet, a cable gland is not required.

*2 and a half. . Then i had to move it, converted it to manual. The LTD is ran through the main loom grommet, 1. because it's 0ga and 2. because the gas wiring was run through the clutch cable hole. Been on gas since 2008 and guess what? Hasn't burnt to the ground or had any wiring issues.

Thanks guys i'm so happy with the car, she looks and drives great
i bought the car off this lady in queensland and drove it down to vic. her mum had bought it brand new from the factory and had those sheepskin cover custom made so teh leather has been protected from day one. Cam with the original owners manual, and a neat book on the history of all the fairlanes and ltds until that year. Only done 130000ks
i don't have many plans for her because there isn't much to do haha
just going to lower the back so it sits level and do some work to the motor.

I am totally jealous. What a gem mate! Glad to see another Fairlane around that had been cared for just like this and I'm sure you'll look after it even better!
