I bought this LTD a few years ago, but sold it to make way for my Sprint. Then 3 years later, the guy I sold it to was selling it again, this was only a few months ago, so I bought it back. :)
It was stock and mint when I sold it, and still was stock when I bought it back, but he hadn't washed it at all in the 3 years he owned it, so it was looking pretty s**t!

Anyway, just lowered it last week, had a set of sprint rims sitting in the shed, thought they'd look good, so I chucked them on and painted all the black plastics at the same time.

Not a bad runner for only $1,000 and a few hours work. Oh, and sorry for the poor image quality... :)

$1000........ You suck :P
Looks very tidy and the sprint rims suit it too. What springs did you end up putting in it?
6 or 8?
Look forward to seeing more pics
Cheers,
Mick

Thanks guys, I actually joined a year ago, but this is only my second post! :)

The LTD is a V8, the engine wasn't go too well when I bought it back, it had no sump gasket!! I pulled it out, fixed the gasket, and now it runs like dream, and it's only got 290,000km's on it!! Barely run in! ;)
Oh, and it's cheap too cos it's on gas! :) The springs are kings super lows with the standard shocks, and I removed the air bag shocks from the rear, just running normal shocks and kings super lows in there too.

I'll try and get some more pictures up soon, I haven't ever taken any of it cos it has always looked terrible until last week...

Loving the look of some of the other NC's and DC's in this thread! They're awesome cars!

As for the woodgrain, that will be going in the "LTD" :D

Of course, lol. I'm casually looking around for the same.

Just out of interest, what can yours do 0-100KM/h in?

Try getting a full set of factory wood for less than $500, that's if you can find a complete set  There is a company in Melbourne that do reproduction wood on your stock grey trim, but they are around the $500 mark as well.
:)

Ah i love having spare woodgrain, i have the complete set here sitting in my wardrobe, all nice and shiny, auto surround, radio surround, window switch surround etc. All original :) Oh and Mick, here is how my new shifter surround worked out.... Full leather too, and complete with the short shifter, that is exactly the height it will be sitting, bought a new Wood Momo wheel too so will take some snaps once she's all on!!

Stop stirring me up ya bloody kiwi mongrel :P
Nice work on the shifter surround mate....it's very original looking and will still work well with the rest of your interior. Good pickup on the wheel too, how did you go with the cruise switch mod?

Geez! They look familiar :P where have I seen them before? :)
hmmm! Gunna sit on the fence on this one for a bit........not sure how I feel about them yet. What did you use to make the cut-outs? Nibbler?
Don't paint the grille, I think that will just be too much, unless you can paint the inner sides and leave the face of the grille chrome so you will see the green from side on, but will still look normal straight on.....if you know what I mean :?

I used a nibbler for my bonnet holes, but the nibbler was too thin to cope with the re-inforcing struts so went the jigsaw route in the end too.

Uhm... Huggie dude --- Do you remember the AIR PRESSURES OVER EF FAIRMONT BONNET thread? viewtopic.php?f=38&t=72008 Your vents look a little high and are seriously close to having air pushed into them rather than venting out once you gain a little forward momentum... What is it you are wanting to achieve with this modification?

Mind you, in the photos of mine they look high too... And, uer --- Are the vents facing into the wind to draw air in?? ? Hell, have I missed something here?
