While I'm here, if anybody has a spare handbrake cable, let me know. I had the lane out this weekend running around and have discovered that mine has started to frey just under the dash where it rolls over the white wheel. It's now beeping at me and giving me the s**t because it won't go all the way back in. Not sure if you still have yours dave, or has the LTD left the yard?
Cheers,
Mick

I've got one, not sure if it's worth posting though.. It's one of the few parts still left on the LTD I'm wrecking.

Froudey

In case anyone's interested, there's an AUII LTD for $4500

http://www.carsguide.com.au/site/search/vehicle-details/D_13284079/vehicle-search/@N=4294962119++494+++4294965322&searchType=1&vehicleType=1

Has a worn drivers seat, cracked R/H tail light and apparently some front quarter panel damage, and 286k's but for $4.5k it's still a good deal..

Or you can buy my LTD, it's got less on the clock :p

theyr 18" XHP boosts. on hub adaptors though, but i've never had an issue with them other than annoying to take wheels off with 20 extra wheel nuts lol

Ride: FORD '89 DA LTD

Location: Melbourne
VIC, Australia

Thought I'd bring this thread back and show off my ride that I hopefully pickup this week...

Got an '89 DA LTD, 280,000kms on the clock, all the usual LTD options, but I'm gonna start looking for a NC/DC leather interior (dunno what my chances are tho!).
I've got an EBII Fairmont in my yard that i'll pinch the good bits off for the LTD (including the wheels wit new tyres)

Needs a set of tyres, a tidy up with TLC, a little rust in the boot lid fixed, and thats it for RWC, then re-reg :)

It's had a front end rebuild with new steering rack and all the rest only 2000kms ago, and the dude that owns it only drives it 2kms to the train station and back each day!

Bargain for $800 IMO :D

and some of the Fairmont, and the wheels I'll be puting on the LTD:

I'm thinking about removing the chrome bumper insert on the LTD and leaving it, or bogging it up and painting to make a flush finish... Anyone seen this done yet, or know where I can source some new chrome strips?
Let me know what you think and if you've got ideas :D

Cheers,
Spud

not bad for 800 thats for sure..

as for the chrome, your only chance is to use vinyl strips that most signwriters can do for you. i have had a quote for as low as $66 suply only from a company on ebay, right up to almost $300 fitted.

removing them wont look any good in my opinion.. however i wouldnt mind seeing what a smoother bumper would look like.
