As much as i love the chrome LTD grill and rims, i must say that looks tough in black, i like it 8-)

Still the question remains, chop or not?

Well, the reason i did it is because i was curious and it's not a definite type of mod... originally i wanted to blacken the slots in both the grill and the wheels but after i saw how it looked with the overspray, i went all the way and i liked it.. like KWIK said, it gives the car a tough look. I took the caps off because i don't want to ruin them as they are plastic. The beauty of it is that when i get sick of that look i can simply Cut'n'polish the paint off... it comes off the chrome really easily and then put the caps back on to make the car look like this again

it suits my Gemini personality

I think I should start scouting out my local wreckers for eb/ed fairmont Ghia's. They seem to be the model with the most "extra's" fitted standard. Part's I am currently on the search for are the original woodgrain dash and centre console bits and one of the momo steering wheels would make a nice addition. Most wreckers around here won't let you scrounge around their yards anymore like they use to. Bloody OH&S and public liability to blame for that one! :x

just a little point to anyone that can get to tuggerah on the central coast, if you want a good place with each and every E-series car, EWT has them all, there is also currently a nice Fairlane down there still mostly in one piece (all goodies still there only thing is the rear two trims have already been taken off) will go to the crusher soon though

How you doin, bought my Fairlane last year to use as a daily work hack, never really thought much of them but I must say it has grown on me. Since then I have spent a little time modifying it with the usual upgrades, full DC LTD interior, yes with wood and the electric seats, correct kickpanels, door trims etc. Really neatens the interior up. Has an LTD grille now and a few other little nick nacks.

It was originally an NC Sportsman edition, Tickford 4L, it's on LPG, drives well and has been looked after. They are a really good car for the money as I have found out, it always gets comments and attention. Nice comfortable cruiser.

Didn't know people actually modify these cars and didn't know a forum existed, found it by mistake whilst Googling, thought I'd drop in and say G'day. Might stick around

Here's a pic of the old girl

Can put up more if anybody likes it

Cheers for now
