How you doin, bought my Fairlane last year to use as a daily work hack, never really thought much of them but I must say it has grown on me. Since then I have spent a little time modifying it with the usual upgrades, full DC LTD interior, yes with wood and the electric seats, correct kickpanels, door trims etc. Really neatens the interior up. Has an LTD grille now and a few other little nick nacks.

It was originally an NC Sportsman edition, Tickford 4L, it's on LPG, drives well and has been looked after. They are a really good car for the money as I have found out, it always gets comments and attention. Nice comfortable cruiser.

Didn't know people actually modify these cars and didn't know a forum existed, found it by mistake whilst Googling, thought I'd drop in and say G'day. Might stick around

Here's a pic of the old girl

Can put up more if anybody likes it

Cheers for now

had this girl for about a month. 3rd owner since new (still got the original sales rep's card on new car sale!!!) 5l ghia. previous owner made special efforts to keep her original with the only mod being those wind deflectors and an lpg tank. The original deck had to go for a sony mp3, the speakers were run down so got pioneers in front with orig tweeters but having prob with what to do with rear as gas tank leaves little clearance for speakers/ woofer. Dont wanna go for huge ugly spacers. Thinkin 2x6" woofers in parcel shelf, porting factory woofer hole and running 6x9's in rear doors??? Any other idea's? Spending more time cleaning her up as is before mods but going to go exhaust work done, j3, try underdrives and k&n stock replacement high flow air filter. Would love some decent 17's + but it would be a little shame as stock mags are mint. She is REALLY clean but got a f**k locust plague in riverena at the moment so its really hard to keep her clean

dont bother with 6x9's. especially in the rear doors. just get some quality 6.5" speakers for the rear. maybe some splits. if you want bass, look at jaycar gear. they have a slim line 8" sub in there online catalog which should fit above the LPG tank

also your image doesnt work

Yeh, the slim subs would be ok but they cost a huge amount....... Got 4 kids and Im movin soon so in comparison you go around $200 for a slim line sub compared to gettin something off ebay and thinking of a way to boot mount them or splits its a no brianer for bang for bucks..... Got to get tinted windows too, Darkest Legal of course. man NCII that pic of the burgundy Nc on the bottom of your posts is the s**t!!!!! Anyone worked out a way to go twin pipes out the a** end either side in a Nc? The tank is in the way from memory but its almost worth going straight gas just to do it. Rekon twin 3"'s out the a** would look awesome

That was the dream mate, just a photoshop of Lane with different shoes, chrome stripes gone and the door handles shaved. The rest is all real :P But a home loan has all but killed that dream, ah well
As for the twin pipes out either side, can't be done. I have twin pipes. 2 1/4 out the same side.
Love your Lane mate, once the bug bites your hooked eh!

Hell yeah, some think they are ugly and a waste of time but after one drive I was hooked. I love em. I call mine "the love boat". Like driving a V8 arm chair, and stuff em I rekon they look fantastic. Everyone out there has Falcons and commodores but they are clit cars..... Every C*** got one. A nice ltd is definately a real head turner. Im definately a lane addict. I'll hopefully be driving mine until im 90
