Nice job man.... did you spray it yourself or get it done? I was thinking about going maybe brushed ally from the cabinet makers under my head with Xr or something painted onto it then clear coated as the stock unit was sold and the alpine sign went with the unit and I have 3 holes under the head unit now. I like the idea of spraying though. Does the colour go with anything? I thought maybe sanding the stock wood door inserts and then staining a cherry colour, then the colour you went would look great

79raven...tnx for looking!
i did it myself. it doesnt take long @ all actually! if you know how to remove the panels u want to spray/change then it should be sweet! i started off cleaning the plastic surrounds with SUPERGLOW Thinners (strong stuff) then applying 2 layers of FLEXI-PRIME CLEAR undercoat. this is really good stuff & dries within 15 mins! in relation to the colour choice, i chose CARDINAL RED as it is the same colour as the car & would match quite well! i applied about 2-3 coats of the red as the first one came out slightly air bubbled! after the red coat dried, i topped it off with 2 layers of CLEAR COAT, which gave it the shine! Still havnt finished yet. have to wait to get some more red paint! haha Hope u enjoy! Cheers. |
