and her first bit of LTD wallnut went in just the other day

Image

its on its way and as always the hunt for wallnut continues

for those with a good eye will notice its using fairmont ghia Door trims and fairmont seats
its also running on king spring super lows with monroe GT sports
and i just got the rego+green slip renewal

$950

is that normal ? like seems expensive to me and i did hunt around for green slip

Nice Colour :P
Good to see you young fella's can appreciate a nice cruiser. 6 or 8? Guessing if your 18 it's probably a 6 right?

Rego seems about right. Green slip prices vary, but things like having full comprehensive insurance will reduce the price.

How did you get your hands on B45's :shock: f**k rarer than hen's teeth!

ya she is a 6 i did have the choice to get a 8 but thats illegal so ya
and ya alot of young people dont like these LWB sedans or even just regular sedans its sad got no one to relate to at my age group :(

and ya picked up the B45's at a garage sale for $500 they were gutted and rusted and everything when i got em but dad being a old tyre fitter knew how to restore them to there original glory and we did and they are almost perfect you wouldnt think its the same rims i brought home honestly only costed a bit of paint to restore em and some hard work

@SLO247

sweet m8 looks pretty clean
i wouldn't mind a sunroof for my NF

Well i think its about time i showed the new girl and to keep this thread going, this is the newest edition to the family after my green car died, its a 6cyl NL Fairlane with the crappa leather interior that is growing on me, its just lowered on 20's with a diff dumped exhaust, i have extractors sitting here waiting to go on once my new head and cam gets here then ill be looking at diff gears and a stally and that will be about all to this girl, if it lasts long enough.

These are from the bathurst run we did a few weeks ago.

@URZ2NV

Is that the door sill sticking out of the bottom of the passenger door?

Wouldn't be surprised, silly heavy sagging things EF/EL doors are.

Josh, just got that exhaust on from Matt, have got the rest of my old system if you want it at all, sounds like your going elsewhere though, gotta say though guys extractors and a full 3" system with one lil redback muffler is a treat for the ears but not so much the neighbours! new pedders struts going in on Saturday and she'll be right for a while.

:?: Just a question fellow LWB drivers... what would you (roughly) expect to pay for a Gearbox overhaul, new water pump, radiator (and the bottom hoses)
Sorry if this is the wrong section for this question.. I figured you guys would know better since we all have the same type of car... mine is a 5LT also..

Thanx peeps! :mrgreen:

For a BTR, try and locate a second hand one in good condition from a wrecker with warranty as that will be much cheaper. Water pump and rad will set you back quite a bit if you can't do it yourself.. I don't know actually prices now because I learnt to do it myself it was so expensive.

full gearbox recon is about 1800
water pumps can be from 80 upwards depending on brand
radiator are between 120-200 (try looking on ebay - also i have been told I6 radiators are the same dont quote me on that but my mates dads V8 NF is using my old I6 one)
hoses are normally about 20-30 bucks.

if you go to a wreckers you can normally pick up most of it for around 5-600 bucks

I'm pretty sure the chrome strips can be replaced by generic mouldings from Supercheap or similiar.

Sill damage is from the original owner who we bought the car off some 18 odd months ago and it just hasnt been fixed as mum didnt care about it, but now its mine it should be sorted shortly, price well for me nothing but when we first bought he mum shilled out $3200 stock standard, the chrome moulding is can be found at any out parts place as i got some from PEPS (old work) when i changed all the moulds over on the old mont i had.

As for mudflaps, weather sheild and towbar, all of these items are staying as weather sheild keeps me dry, towbar is used for my trailer and the mudflaps stop all the stones, mud etc from damaging the car.

Thanx man... since i won't do the work myself due to a lack of place and proper knowledge, i have to also factor in labour costs and it looks like it going to cost a bit :(
But i guess the trade off is that i didn't pay too much for the car in the first place and once this is done, the car will be mechanically NEW which means it'll go for many many more years... kinda works out well.... soon i'll start a build thread... been lazy so far :D

Here she is... (in case you don't remember)
