dude u sure bout that level for the front windscreen ?

I thought it was 65% or slightly higher and the tinted strip along the top could legally be what ever ya want.

yeh i was under the understanding you cant touch the front windscreen. I reckon you would only tint the front if it was a show car, its not safe to tint the windscreen on a street car. Night time would be a b**ch in the car!

If your car is old enough you can still tint it darker than 35% just make sure you get the invoice back dated if you're worried. I know a few blokes who'll go darker. My mate just got a brand new Forrester LX and his tint got done @ 15%.
Looks sweet as too.

The only area that can be tint on the front windscreen is the small section at the top to stop sunlight.

IF you are going to get your car tinted below the legal limit, just keep in mind that your insurance company will want to know about it and perhaps may not honour your policy.

OLDM8, you will find that either your mates Forrester is not insured and/or they will not honour his policy. Apart from that depending on which state he lives in his car is now illegal, dispite how good it looks.

Just some food for thought.

good question probably not legal at all :P and creates more glare for other road users.

I think you'll find any modification that makes the car illegal or unroadworthy instantly voids your policy...tint less than 35% would void your policy as its defectable = defects are issued for unroad worthy aspects
