I've got tint on the rear, never a problem. And it's not illegal (unless of course it's too dark).

i thought it was only the drivers windows that had to be 35%..... as for the rear doors and back window u were allowed darker, i cant remember where i heard that though :? i may be wrong, so feel free to correct me, and kezz, i have never had any problems with my rear demister either...

I got a tint-a-car Tint. F1 they called it, or some other snazzy name that there marketing department thought up.
Is darkish, nothing excessive, and cuts back a HUGE amount of heat through the glass.
Works for me, it's legal, and it came with a lifetime warranty against bubbling and discolouring.
Also never had any problems with rear demister, I think that's probably a bit of an urban myth, maybe with the s**t 'DIY' tints...

SolarTint 'Black Onyx' for me. Looks like limo tint form the outside, but inside-out it legal :)

i have 20% tint on mine. not legal but have never heard of anyone getting hassled about tint though. the guy that did mine also reckon'd that most tints on new cars are illegal. he says its illegal to tint over a tint and as all new cars come from factory with tinted glass for uv protection he said you couldn't tint it legally. sounds a bit out there to me. i'm not worried. if a cop pulls up next to me i just put down my front windows.

20% is the go, looks awesome, keeps the heat and sun out, and gives u a little in car privacy... what more could u ask for?? :)

20% isnt legal, altho thats where most people settle; not sure on what % min eis as it was done by the perious owner, its great in terms of privacy, not a chance of seeing in, altho can barely tell windows are tinted by looking out of them..

Its more of a reflection look than the LIMO black look; still when theres no reflection its dark which is good too.
Legal i hear is 35%, altho i think anything upto 20% should be fairly hassel free. Just dont be stupid n put 5% on or something LOL.

I have 5% on my rear window .. but that's on a ute ... and I am allowed to have as dark as I like on the rear window of a commercial vehicle.

I have 20% on the rest of the ute though ... that patr is illegal ... but i did it for privacy .... and also to keep it a bit cooler inside as well.

As far as I know its 20% in NSW and 35% in VIC. A few people that I know cross the border to get a tint done cause many reputable tinters wont go less than lagal because I think it becomes their responsibility.

The way I look at it is stay legal, its fair enough if you don't get caught and it looks good, but when the crunch time comes of making a claim through insurance and the insurance company sees an illegal tint, they're gonna go for every possibly route to not have to pay out.
