I just bought a chrome boot garnsh for my EL XR6.
Anyone got any tips for installing it properly?
Just line it up above the number plate? Im guesssing maybe mark the ends of the bolts on the back with some kind of texter or something, hold the garnish level over the back againt the car and drill holes where the texter has left marks?
Do I need to seal the holes with anything once ive installed it?

Cheers!

This wont help you, but I had to laugh the other day when I saw the EF/EL chrome Fairmont garnish stuck onto the back of an XE :)

I should've taken a pic!

Id, do something about the F badge in the midle of the garnish it doesn't really go good in contrast with the XR6 badge. :D

i dont think its so much the red its the red and the white, would look better on a dark blue or green xr.
i like the red stripes around the xr's though

Not quite sure but on the EL Ghia the wheels have the "Ghia" badge if ur quite crafty u might be able to remove the badge and place it where the 'F' is that way u could have a XR6 Ghia. But i dunno if it could be done havent checked closely on mine.

Yea, it doesnt look as good in the photos. The red F actually contrasts really well with the red pinstriping, it just isnt to clear on the photo. I love the chrome against the white too.
The back of these falcons are just so bare if they arent Fairmont or Ghia.
I might try to change the badge sometime to a Tickford one or something, just havent had the time.
Yea Righty, I plan to get EF tailight clusters sometime too, they look much better.
All in all, im f**k chuffed with the result. 8-)

Had another look at it a moment ago. Id remove the tow bar and put the cap back on, id remove the Falcon badge and replace it by the small tickford wings badge. I have done so on my car and it looks better.
