i jsut got a bit of extra steel and welded up a new piece, about 20cm long it had to move 3cm to the left for it to fit perfect. so i jsut welding it on. easy work took 15mins.

Absolutely gorgeous mate! Good on ya! Ditch the round lights and spoiler as suggested though.. just a personal opinion :-)

10/10!

quicky on the side skirts...
How you fit them up? I got some and trying to go about making them shorter, but having trouble. I'm guessing the top lip sits under the black rubber seal running the lenght of the sils , don't really want to damage them so thought id ask for anyones advice. Do i take this strip off, fit skirt then replace rubber or what? And if so, how the fudge do i get it off??

hey mate its jsut got litel clips there about 8 from memory, all u do is put the side skirt on and put the rubber seal back on, but u will haev a problem off them not poping back in as they are too short witht he skirt on, just get a rubber mallet or try find the same but longer, i haev trouble with mine so i jsut custom made some new ones 16 in total for both sides.

and with the skirt its 40mm to long so u ahev to cut off the end and the front of the skirt not the rear. and jsut put the original back onn i will pot a pic.. a quick sketch,

I found I had troble closing the door when I fitted my skirts due to the skirt raising the seal and rusty is right the old clips will not hod down the seal. I pop rivited my skirt on and then I used Panel Christmas trees to hold down the seal, place correctly it looks good. When you put the end back on the skirt I recommend that you reinforce the join no matter how you join it. Measure twice cut once, expensive mistake if you get it wrong.

only thing i would have done differently is use an elxr grill and lights, i think the fairmont twinlights look a little tacky.
All in all though, hats off, this is an awesome effort, you've definitely set a benchmark!

Last time I looked XR fronts didn't fit Fairmont bonnets that is why I went with the twinlight system.

I just read through this. That is an awesome mod, nice to see something diff and u taking all the comments in your stride. Well done Paul.

P.S. Would love to see this 'Mont coming towards me then flying off in the distance hearing a V8 rumble, and this is coming from a guy who worships the ford 6's

When it comes to what people have to say I listen to what is constructive critisism and compliments, Idiots that have nothing to contribute or are full of s**t stuff em. Every one is entitled to a opinion doesn't mean it has to agree with mine, this also aplies to the way I do my car, I do what I like, it is mine therefore it is to suit me. I am glad and slightly proud that most people have nice things to say about my work. Thanks to all those that have commented, your compliments have been appreciated.
