there different lights altogether. The genuines are made by Hella and are mounted in a bracket thing then the front bar sits infront of them.
The twinlights are a single unit the lights are inside them.

so the headlights themselves are different do they sit different to the ford ones?? so if i got some twinlights and later on found or brought just the front cover (the full ford gen one) it wouldn't fit over the lights from the twinlights

No go.
It's either standard bar and twinlights, or it's full XR conversion, can't mix and match the two.

Standard in the pov pack GLi/Futura is H3 for high beam and H1 for low beam. By the way, don't bother with the eBay.com.au globes, you'll only get a week out of them, spend the extra for decent brand Narva, Orasm or Philips globes.

My service manual said i had to, but i managed to change one without taking it off. Fairly sure it would be similar between models, you will just need to undo the first 3 or so 'scrivet' thingos on the black plastic bit and remove the indicator and you can then get to all the bolts, and then get the headlight out! It can be a bit tricky to get the light out once unbolted so get someone to help you, but its definanltly not hard to do :)
