I pulled up for gas Thursday night, and as I opened the door, a really strong wind ripped the door out of my hand and really blew it hard - overextended it something cruel.

Now - the door won't close properly - I looked at it and it looked like it had "dropped"
If I slam it with some upward pressure as well, it does close.
What a pain in the a**!

I was driving past Lane Ford, so I thought I'd check see if they could adjust it, if a spring had broken, get a new one - that sort of thing.
Well - they checked it and told me they couldn't do anything, and that it would be a panel beating job to fix it!!!!

I couldn't believe it - they showed me how the force of the opening door had pulled the A piller metal and it was now a bit movable.

And to make matters worse, not only is it a pain to close the door and get it to shut properly when you are in it, now, when you get around the 100 km/h mark, it pops open!!!!

I'm spewin'''

Took the car to a panel beaters to get quoted up for the job.

He said no need - the panels/frame were fine.

Checked the door lock - stuffed.

$45 from a wrecker and 1 3/4 hrs of my time and it is good as new !!

Yay !!!!!

door drops happen all the time, i have a good mate whos a panel beater and he showd me his 'home made' tool he uses 2 fix doors that do this, its just basically a leaver that sits in the door lock, and leavers against the jam on the car body, pretty simple eh...sif bend a frame, rofl
