I know all the majority of you hate neons.

I wan't to rig up some neons undermy car so that when i de-activate my car alarm they will come on to light the ground so i know what i am stepping onto by my car. (also when i get out so i know what is there when i step out.

Anyone know of a circuit that does this??

Hey mate

Does the interior light come on when you disarm the alarm?

PS dont worry about ppl flaming the neons, this is a tech forum and they should know better.

yeah you can hook up to the interior light circuit with a relay to turn on your neons

That'd be alright to also hook up to your alarm, so when your alarm is actually triggered, the neons go crazy or just stay on. Attract some more attention, and bring some more light to your car.

find your lines for your alarm and connect the indicator lines (12v+) to the neon 12v+ line .. put a switch on it too inside so u can switch it off just incase it annoys u

diode maybe too .. for the sake of it.. lol

lol i cant see why you need a diode, cos i cant see you getting any backwards voltage through it. but a switch is a ripper idea, and hell u can even make some light controllers, like a 555 timer that just steps through a counter, and each count illuminates a diff pattern of neons, using an rc timing cct. hmm i shud stop having these ideas ... :S

As fuzion said, hook a light sensitive diode up to it. So the neons only come on, when it is dark :)

Goodluck with it

Thanks Guys, just got back on the forums, been a little busy.

The Interior lights don't come on when the alarm is (activated/deactivated) but i will suss out the wiring from the alarm as i had a look at the loom and there is a few wires that are not connected. One maybe an interior light activation line or something.
