The appeal, not unlike MRE-40L's custom altezza's, is that it's never been done before, and will give you something to have an erection about at a cruise. Having said that, i do agree there's no problem with the original lights, and as a matter of fact the original of that pic above has a really cool masking over them:

But i'd do the round ones just cos no-one has. (If i had the money or the means)

Must say actually, you've convinced me those skyline lights look mint. Now the only thing to be done is to go find a silly ricer that owns a skyline, run over his car - making it uglier than before, then slap him for buying such crap, then nick his lights and his hot s*** girlfriend. Of course none of this would work because:

As high as my suspension is on my EF, i don't think it'd quite get on top of a skyline.

If i slap him, he's likely to call his yakuza buddies to add uzi bullets to my body by osmosis.

The lights in the photochop are not in the original size proportion so it wouldn't look the same.

I'm ugly and probably wouldn't get his girlfriend.

Even so, i still own a ford and hence am one of the few that will spend eternity in valhalla instead of whatever those stupid vikings call hell.

I actually don't mind them on that dark car with the big and small one. Still think skyline-wanna-be, but I don't mind it...

The tail lights on the EF were simply great....
Im up for improvements in areas that need it.. but why stuff around with something thats already the best in its class.

I give you credit for trying to do something new.. but really - is it worth it?

A guy in the E-Series club has tinted the rear lights on his EB-ED, leaving a two circles in the middle untinted.
R31 style.
Looks good I reckons.
Don't mind the R34 style in the EF-EL.
It's certainly different!

For one plain and simple reason. Making this mod to your EF would give you something fresh and cool, and you can still look around at all the other EF's and admire how much better they are than EL's. Basically the best of both worlds.

Hahaha, it would take many many thousands of dollars to get a proper template made for more than one set. Money i'll never have. It was basically just artistic impression, and posing an idea to see if it was popular. Hey, maybe someone who does have the resources to produce these might do so now they know how it'd look.

If anyone were to make these, i'd be very interested in buying a set, even tho i'd have to paint my car black first ;)
