Wasn't too sure where i should post this, i basically want to turn the back of my ute into an esky for a birthday party and wasn't too sure how to go about it. anybody done it, or know of a way to do it without screwing up the ute?

you can do what we did and drop a tarp in and gaffer tape it all round, the just keep opening and closing the hard lid.

Or the best esky for a party we've had yet. We just went to the dump and picked up an old chest frezzer. Cut the cord off, disenfected it all, sprayed it up to our liking. and hey presto. the ice lasted 5 days in the backyard in that thing with no power. ITs holds a s**t load of beer too and you dont have to worry about the moisture or the weight of all the ice and water in the tray of the ute.

two options

1. close the tray and fill with ice

if you want to fit more then ice in the back

2. cut a 44 gal drum in half. get the welder out. proceed to weld in. fill with ice

what you should do, is fill the tray with water, the figure out a way to dump it out of the tray at 100 or so, thatd look cool. :)

yeah, i thnk i'm gonna do the whole tarp thing.

I've collected water in it before n dumped it(collects in the cover pretty bad), it juss makes a big splash, not really too impressive.

yeah nick i traded the explorer in a month ago, it really was gonna blow up, and yeah bought a brand new BF XL ute. No i didn't pay retail, dad gets discounts for family since his company ships all fords into the country. pretty standard ute. but yeah the stereo is supposed to go in tommrow morning, so that should b interesting. bye bye hearing, i figure 140 db in the explorer, yeah gonna break something in the cabin of the ute

If the ute cant handle water in the tub, its not a ute!
Theres drain holes! its what they're for!
fill it with crap and hose it out (or broom)

My old datto boot liked being turned into an esky we just siliconed some gaps and plugged the drain holes and cheers nissan for the vertical fuel tank! 'so thank-you very much sorrento xmas parties!'

tarp it... fill it... empty it... clean it and wait a few hours b4 driving it (drunkeness reasons)!
