A piece of light gauge angle is required. The easiest way is to cut (yes I know the flaps are not cheap but hear me out! ) about 3 inches off the overall height. This is because it is actually illegal for them to touch the road in normal driving conditions. Also cut a notch where the exhaust comes through. But cut this smaller than what you actually need. If it touches the exhaust it will melt the hole to the perfect shape. Sounds rough but it looks perfect. Use tech screws to mount onto the angle. Then mount the angle onto the bottom of the towbar. I used two tech screws to mount onto the bottom of the towbar. Then another longer tech on the outer side of the exhaust. The reason I used only three techs in total to hold them on is cause I quite often take them off if I have to do a few ks. They act a bit like parachutes and almost double fuel consumption
Hope this helps mate. If need be I can post some pics later.

Got some pics for ya. Kinda hard to take em but you get the idea
As you can see I kinda stuffed up the cutout for the exhaust . I also couldn't mount them with a gap as they were too wide. BTW Happy birthday!

i just fixed my brother mudflaps to the bottom off the well body...
although theu were CAT mudflaps... as for the exhaust i just cut it off before it got to the mudflap, cut the resinator off, and bent it out to comne out behind the back wheel, then put a tinker on it.. look awsome... anyway... that was a nissan ute so ford are more than likely ALOT different... goodluck all the same. |

Speaking of Nissan utes, i just found out the other day that Nissan actually had their version of the Ford XF Ute! Just rebadged. Think Ford Maverick/Nissan Patrol, Toyota Camry/Holden Apollo, Holden Commodore/Toyota Lexcen.
Bit of useless crap for ya! Now back on topic . |
