I think the one you're talking about is the flush fitting bobtail which came out on the Fortes. If so, forget it.
They're no longer available from Ford and I don't think anyone ever copied them in the aftermarket. I've had several experiences with people who've broken theirs (they're plastic.) They're well and truly glued on. In fact, I tried to remove the remains of one from one customer's car and it was a nightmare. Had to very gently use a sharp scraper to stop damaging the paintwork and even then, it wasn't 100% successful. Bottom line is , you probably wouldn't safely get one off a boot from a wrecker, unless you happened to find one with boot attached which is the same colour as your car. Then you'd be right. Just as a side issue, if anyone has a car with this bobtail on it and needs to replace it in the future, Ford used the Series 1 XR bootlid for these bobtails (same pre-drilled holes), so the only available spoiler to use is the Series 1 XR wing. Others won't cover the holes. Cheers, Bob
