Hi all
My ef xr6 was parked all day in the sun the other day. The next morning I noticed one of the side EL side skirts had slightly warped. There are no other marks on it to suggest it was hit or tampered with. only cause i can think of is the sun. Is this a common problem? can it be fixed or do i have to replace the bastard thing. ill post up pics tomorrow cheers, Tim |

Tim,
How long has it been on the car? Is it plastic or genuine? The most common cause of warping is the quality of the product. If it's fibreglass, it could be caused by the product being made from a single layer of glass, which makes it quite flimsy. That's the most likely scenario and may serve as a warning to those who think price is the most important consideration. Some years ago, I copped a dud batch of resin and found a number of dark coloured wings went walkabout, so that's possible, but unlikely. If it's a reasonably new product, talk to your supplier and see how they respond. Cheers, Bob Canberra Car Styling

If it's plastic, it's probably a genuine one. In that case, all I can think is that someone's backed into it. A heat gun may get the shape back, but I'm not experienced at that, so don't take it as read.
cheers, Bob

yeah looking at it closely i cant imagine its due to sun(my rear view mirror fell off that same day made me think sun)
Really gives me the s**t, you try your hardest to keep your car immaculate and some f**k ruins your efforts. one other thing concerning the way my kit is mounted. Where the spoiler mounts to the body a few scrape marks have started to appear. Looks as though the spoilers move a little bit and rub on the paint underneath. Should there be some soft seam sealer type stuff to provide a cushion between the spoiler and where it mounts? thanks for the replies Bob Tim |
