Ahhh I remember those days.
The Gold Coast ended up with Level 5A Water Restrictions which equalled we could only use water on Wednesdays Thats when our damn was like 45%. Now its +80% I (think about) washing my car all the time! |

They did a test on A Current Affair, and as it turned out, you used more water using buckets, then you did rinsing your car off with buckets of water. Not only that, but the hose gave a better result in the end. Sometimes I really do wonder about the ability of those running the country.... That being said, we always use the click on click off hose end, and these save heaps of water, especially compared to those ho just let the hose dribble while they wash their car

New ponds or lakes MUST NOT be filled Oh i know! Ill fill it with a bucket! _________________________________________________________ Farm Dams or Tanks Dams or tanks used for domestic and stock consumption or fire fighting may be topped up or filled Topping up or filling dams or tanks for any other reason is not permitted Oh yes occifer sir, im just filling my tank wit the hose in case we get a bush fire.....

Karcher, spit water, jet wave and lavor wash all make top quality cleaners
The only difference with the more expensive karchers is the brass pumps which last longer, 1000 - 3000 psi and inbuilt shampoo tank to soak the car with (helps) I'll be getting a jet wave A515 wet vac some time soon too, only $500

We have a Karcher one Vic and it kicks a**.
You can also buy the cleaning attachments, be it a bottle of degreaser to hook on, a bottle of car wash to hook on, its all good my friend! Head down to Mitre 10 Megamart near Ford on Maroondah Hwy in Ringood - looks HUGE!!

I got my karcher from good old bunnings, they had heaps to choose from, albeit it was when the water restrictions began so it was more a popular thing then!
Id reccomend them still as their prices were the best I could find.

The one I use in Melton is good, it's still relatively new, and I know not to get in behind a 4WD!
I usually try for the Commonwhore SS'es ( ) that go in there with the tiniest speck of dust on the rear quater panel in the wheel arch... But they have to wash the WHOLE car, twice sometimes! UGH! Their money I suppose... But my water in the future, good thing there's the "grey" water pipe from Sunbury... Wolfpac

I take a sponge with me and use that instead of the dirt filled brush they supply.
