I have a problem with water leaking into the boot of my EL Fairmont after rain. It seems to be coming in through the left hand side above the fuel filler where there is a joining on metals.
So far I've tried to silicon everything up, inside and out and have had no success. Now i seem to think that somehow water is dripping down from the top of the rear window somehow and finding its way into the boot. Seems when i pour water there, is the only time i get a leak. Any idea's? Any help much appreciated. |

Fold the back seat down, grab a torch, lie into the boot and get someone so spray the car with the hose. You will soon see the leaks!

Hmmm interesting, I have the same problem and have tried the same to fix it . I was putting it down to a dodgey rear 1/4 repair at some stage. Might get a panel beater mate to take a look and get the rear window resealed I also found that it only leaks when the car is parked with the front pointing down hill, temporary fix, don't back the car up my drive way.

yep, i've been in the boot many time's and can see the leak. The problem is where the water is entering the boot, I think it's channeling down from somewhere.
I also considered getting my rear glass taken off and resealed, but was told there's a 50% chance of breakage, and a new one is approx. $450, plus $120 fitting. The high chance of breakage is apparently is because the seals and glass are one piece not separate. Thats if it's even leaking from there. My temporary fix is a bottle and funnel where its leaking, dodgy but it works. |

Does the car have a sunroof?? the factory sun roofs have the drains in the boot, and if they block up they drain into the boot..

My EF has the same problem...I found it was the seal around the boot in each coner below the rear window.
