I have standard 205/65/15 on the standard EF Fairmont alloy. I was told that i can get the 225/50/15. Has anyone done this,, i dont wanna get a tyre thats too wide and cause problems etc.

225/60/15 would be more suitable,
The 225/50/15's would cost you fortune if they still make them for larger cars. Plus you would have the problem of your speedo being out, If your speedo is reading 100Kmh you will only be doing 94 Kph. Have a look here for tyre size comparison. http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html |

Sorry i was meant to say 225/60/15 not 225/50/15.
So i guess the 225/60/15 will be ok? I really cant be bothered with insurance issues etc. Cause its cheaper to go 205/65/15 but i figured why not go a bit wider for some better drive etc. |

Could always try some 215's? I have them on my stock rims and I'm more than happy
