Maxxis Z1 is a reasonably priced tire in that size that is actually quite good for the $$$. "Factory" is a bit subjective here.... considering E series didnt come out with 19"s. 235 or 245s would be fine, I was just suggesting the one that would keep the speedo most accurate. As for the Maxxis Z1's, I actually have those in 245/45/18 on the front of my EF, and they are in fact a very good tyre. They came with the rims when I bought them so I went to check out the price for replacements one arvo, from what I can remember they were cheap as too. Maybe so, but the 245/35R19 is a standard size, so the tyres are easier and cheaper to get (try find a 235/35R19). 235/45R17 is also a standard size, going to the 245/35R19 will work fine. there's bigger all speedo difference between those two. As already said a 1.6-1.7% difference.

I tried to fit 45 Series 18's on my NF but the 245/40's were that close to the upper balljoint i have to remove the grease nipple! So 45's were a definite no-go - must be different offsets or something!

I found the factory ones stick out more, so offer less tire clearance... Whereas some of the aftermarket ones stick out less. I put some TRW ones in my EL, and got around 4 or 5 mm extra clearance. So this is a way of safely adding taller rubber. data_mine wrote: each or $400 all up? If so what cheap a** crap are they? Sounds like all up. Obviously doesn't like himself or his car. |
