Thanks guys. I will be looking into a few of the suggestions.

Have hit a bit of a speed hump... Found that i have a cracked rim, Shepparton wheel works said they could fix it (cost 100 bucks) but i've been told that if it fails and i have an accident or even if i just have an accident then i wont be cover with insurance.

Does anyone know if this is true or had an experience with broken rim repairs??

Cheers Paul.

From what i know, it depends on the sort of repair, some repairs are allowed to rims & would be covered by insurance, other repairs are not allowed. Honestly, need to have a look at your RTA's website, under their mod guides to see what they say about rims & repairs.

Cheers

Yokohama DNA ECOS

Not too bad only had them for a couple of weeks though
$69 each fitted etc :D
Bought from a company that imports used tyres from Japan
Something to do with their weather they have to replace more often
Had roughly 90-95% tread on them so im pretty stoked with that

Technically any strutural repair on an alloy wheel (cracks etc) is not legal as the welding process interfears with the heat treating of the wheel.
But in saying that I have seen insurance companies send alloy wheels out for repair!
Just get the repair done and if it is a good quality repair you shouldnt be even able to tell it was repaired. Just keep it to yourself and if it fails (highly unlikely if its done properly) dont say a word about it. For all you know the repair could of been done before you bought the car and it is unnoticable. You only have to tell them what you would be REASONABLY expected to know.
If it gets to the point in an accident they are trying to not pay out due to a repaired wheel (providing it is a quality job) , they will most likely try to say you are not insured to drive on Tuesdays if it is raining , only on Sunny Tuesdays.
It will be ok providing it is a high quality repair.

Sounds like a good buy, how are the tyres for wear & handling?

Cheers

Mate i love these tyres they grip like f^&k. They are all evenly worn but only downfall is i think the edges are too round for my liking. I like to have a nice square edge tyre
