Are they a dodgy way of getting a pair of wheels to fit onto your car, cause i have had a few different opinions about spacers and was just wondering wat ppl thought of them. i also got quoted 200bucks 4 a set, is that good or not??

price sounds right. i wouldn't think they were dodgy but they're not legal, that's for sure.

 where did you get that idea from mate??
My el had been running them for months on months, they went good with high speeds hard turning, circle work you name it..... About legality my car was un-regoed i had it regoed and insured with them on, so i am saying yes they are Legal.... the il-legal ones are the spacers which act like washers... Price that sound right, actually quite cheap!!

As snow_white said the spacers work like a washer, hence the name spacer. Whereas the hub adaptors adapt onto the exsisting hub, or basically they just bolt straight onto the exsisting hub, not taking up any of the thread on the hub as the spacers do.

Spacers illegal in WA. i know that for a fact as i asked the pits. i asked them about hub adapters which bolt on to the existing studs and on the adapter hav a new set of bolts which the wheel bolts on to, and they had never heard of them so here was no rule against them is what they told me. I have them on my car to fit my wheels on and have never had a problem.

i get it. so with a hub adaptor u can still use the big chunky lugs u need with pre au's.

Let's just say, you can fit AU and BA wheels onto your e-series, it's not the studs which are the problem for me it was how it would always touch the inner parts of the car. The hub adapter basically bolts onto your existing thread with bolts and on the adapter you have a whole new ring of studs, this creates a spacing effect and gives you clearance and room...

Yes, Spacers are illegal if OVER 5mm thick, and the RTA have no documentation if hub adaptors are legal or illegal.
I personally will never run hub adaptors again, I had nothing but trouble with mine, Car shuddered alot at high speeds, and I kept snapping wheel studs. Personally, I think if you want wheels get them to suite e-series, not au or ba. But each to there own

why not just buy an AU Wheels with an offset of EL. Big-O-Tyres are making AU wheels with an offset of E series falcons.
