Hi fellas,
I am just altitude confused as to which models in the ef/el range came out with the chrome trim inserted in the bumper moulds. I have a el fairmont ghia and only the 4 doors have the chrome trim on them and not the front or rear bars. So if anyone could let me know that would be great Cheers |

That's strange mine is a el fairmont ghia and only the doors have the chrome trim and not the front or rear bars. Any reason for this?
My mate was arguing with me saying only the fairlanes had it on the front and rear bars... |

My EL Fairmont Ghia has them, my friends EF Fairmont Ghia doesn't....
And from what I can see from browsing carsales, EL Fairmonts (not ghia) only get chromy bits on the sides and not the front and rear, and the EF Fairmont & Ghia don't have them at all. |

Try Ford, if they have no stock then you may be in trouble.

Better to get new items if you can - 2nd hand stuff will be weathered. Chances are your side ones are.
Rear: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/321014914191 ... 1438.l2649 Front: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/321014914698 ... 1438.l2649 Supercrap have 10mm side strips, as do VG Autopaints www.vgautopaints.com.au .

I have seen those ads before but I beleive they are for the chrome bit only and not the actual mould

The indentations for the chrome strips to stick to are part of the bumpers and the door side mouldings. You pull the old ones off, clean up double sided tape residue, and fit the new chrome strips in the indentations - the ends tuck under the door mould/bumper mould.
The front strips are triangular in shape.
