well done EFFII for getting out there and looking for other ways to make some cash and not sponging of the parents, should be more young blokes like yourself.

just an idea, maybe when you get a spare hour or so you could grab a family members or mates car and do the front guards and bonnet and take some before and after pics, might help draw a few more people in when they see your work.

You definitely need to put up some before/after pictures of your work.
Detailing is far more accessible to the enthusiast now and the term "cut n' polish" died a long time ago.

It used to be that if your paint had faded badly enough you would get some 'cutters' take the paint down a notch then polish it up, to remove the scratches the cutters put in, to bring it back to life.
Now days the only time you need any sort of abrasive polish is if there are visible swirls, holograms or marring in the paint work. Restoring colour and shine doesnt necessarily require the harsh abrasives like before.

The average car enthusiast now has a lot more access to information and can easily become informed enough to doubt someone's work without proof. Especially with forums like this and with threads wholly dedicated to car detailing advice.

This is in no way a dig at you or your skills, I wouldnt for the life of me try a rotary polisher on my car as I dont have the money to respray it after I stuff up, but if you're going to get business from here or any forum, you are going to need to have the proof.

I'm certainly interested. My roof has some very fine spottiness going on now, and basically all the paint's looking pretty rough. It'll be impossible to get it perfect but it'll be better than what it is now.

One step could be done in two hours by a body shop guy but I simply can't work that fast and get flawless results and get the paint to a level thats top class and protected
So it's one to four hours on the roof or hood and 30 mins to 1 hour on a front guard for me.

Good luck anyhow - red cars are great for providing proof of your work

yeah not trying to put u down at all but i have to agree with Aurora, i was a detailer for a couple years and theirs no way possible i could do i car in 2 hours, just to many mistakes! i normally aloud a hole day to get a car done and even then u can see some inconsistency's. But if u can get a car done that quick and get good results then well done. Get a collection of pics together of ur results and not doubt ull have people coming too you.
