what kind and size of tyre are you aiming to fit?
ie. 4x4 or normal car?
i have no idea what a 7jj wheel is, but a quick google search came up with a few 4x4 sites - apparently 285/75 are ok lol
http://www.4x4community.co.za/forum/sho ... hp?t=27907

if its just a normal tyre, (assuming 15"?) sidewall height (and strength/rigidness) needs to be considered when trying to fit a wider tyre than normal as you will get some mad sidewall flex going around corners.

i had 235s on some 14" rims on a previous car and the sidewalls were pretty epic and unless i had the pressure above recommended would feel the car sway on the sidewall around some bends.

50 isnt a bad sidewall height, what size is the rim its on?
being 14" it can't be too wide unless they're some 14x8" 12 slotters? lol

they are on 7JJ's (7"wide) as first asked, with 265/50/14's on 8JJ's on the rear - they are all aluminium Enkei Apaches.

if you've already got 245s why are you asking about 235s?
