I might be wrong, but I was under the impression that you can legally tint rear windows as dark as you like, that only the front doors were resticted.

If the tinting is done to the legal limit there shouldn't be any trouble with insurance companies.

I recently had my windows re-tinted here in Brisbane. I went darkest legal (35%) I think it's good, and the metal-film has much better properties than cheap plastic tint. Anyways, the guy here (Reece from Premier Tint) said that only commercial vehicles are legally allowed darker tint on their windows - for a general vehical the limit is 35% for any window (except of course the windscreen, where no tint is allowed). Might be different in other states however.

Makes you wonder how window sox are legal!

ive got 18% on mine and never had any problems with cops.

because the falcons have such a large cabon sapce and large front window it lets a lot of light in making your tint look lighter.

on my girlfriends corolla she has 35% which is legal but because her cabon is samller and not as much light is let in.

if you put our 2 cars together you would think that they are the same tint.

Also your interior colour will make a differenece, if you have black seats and dark interior your tint will look darker compared to lighter interior

i have 20% more from tint professor on my back window and have had no problems i actually have never been pulled over in my au since i got my licence in March and have passed many cops and so forth - so i wouldnt worry unless ur gunna drive like an idiot which they will then styart getting technical - but looks great from the back a more sportier looks - go the 20% on the back the other windows are dark enough for me they look nice not overboard

I got my car tinted guys. I have to say, it does make the car look so much better. Got 20% on the back and its fairly dark. Im worried about my p plates not being able to be sseen at night. Is it worth getting external plates.

yeah plate it safe mate and get the external plates....or at worst dont display them just dont drive like a d***head and you'll be right i havent had mine on for 2 years for various reasons....both are gonna be far better than only half showing em the poilice will stintg u everytime and then would also probably try and defect u for the tint...and in the end theyd be right and youd have to fix your tints which would suck
