Hi, i just want to know what other members have got... as in what grade tinting.

I am about to get 20% on my car which is white. Its a metallised film which comes with life time warranty. $250 in sydney

Also had anyone here have 5% tint... is it hard to see at nite because i am considering it.

Cheers

I had 35% on my XH and always thought it could be a touch darker. I've now got 20% on my EL and love it. Looks nice and dark and its not a nuisance at night.

I once drove a Skyline that had 5% limo tint. Scare dhte s**t outta me cuz I coudnt not see out the damn thing.

I got 20% on my EF and I think its perfect. Keeps the people from looking but most importantly it stops the heat from coming in.

I paid 210 on the Gold Coast to do so.

the latest craze is coloured reflective tint. You can get all colours and looks awsome. Also tinti graffics, using different coloured tints to create a design on ya window, I have found this to be very big on the Gold Coast.

Reflective tine is expensive, about $700 a car, and as for the legalities, well i dare say it would be illegal......can't see in.

Its 30% i think according to the reciept somewhere; was on the car when i got it. :o

dont know if they still do it over east, but I went for the first grade of illegal tint - I know some of the private tinting places around Sydney used to do it. Nice and dark and looks a treat, way darker than any legal tint I was looking at.

yeah I beleive 33% is legal any thing less than that is suppose to be illegal. Depends on where ya live on how Cops regulate it . They can if they pull you over and are feeling like being a C*** demand you take it off before you can drive off. But I reckon 20% should see you through without any Cop problems. That said It might looker darker on a white car as a opposed to on a darker coloured car. Up to you in the end :D

Yeh the tint place i'm gonna get my tint done has 5% tint available which is fully dark. I've been in a car with 5% and its pretty cool but very scary at nite because 95% of the light is blocked out basically.

Also the 5% tint film is bleach dyed so it'll fade after a couple of years... so i'm opting for the metallised film which is a lil on the reflective side but is also dark. Yup 20% is dark enuff on a white car.

i think 5% is fine on side windows... back window should be 20% and obviously its illegal to do front windscreen... though they used to do it!

I think 20% all round is the winner. Its sufficiently dark to stop prying eyes, the cops wont hassle you, and you can see out of it safely.
