Hey guys, (THIS THREAD DOES NOT INVOLVE NEONS!)
I want to replace the washer jets in my bonnet, as the ED ones have become chalky. Does anyone know if AU ones fit at all? They have a glossier finish, and do not go chalky. Cheers, GazzaED |

i reckon they'll go chalky in time looking at mine. But yeah theoretically they should fit.

Gazza, get some of the Mothers "Back To Black", that has been proven to work on the chalky washer jets. It takes a few applications, but it works awesomly. Or you could try a bit of baby oil, i used that on my door handles in the ED, and they were looking brand spankers for about 3 months. even with getting clean and touched alot, they held their own, and werent greasy. (i wiped it down with a clean cloth about 5 mins after applying the baby oil.

Yeah just take the hose off em (just pull) and then squeeze the clips together to enable it to go through the hole. |

I coat everything black on my car with "wet tyre shine" stuff like washer jets and that weird huge piece of black at the top of the bonnet, and door handles and mudflaps, and my STUPID GREY BUMPERS, and everything else that used to be dark grey when my car was new, and now goes to almost white within a few days of my car sunbaking.
It makes it really dark and shiny, like new! |

Ahhh gonna short them out and try and set em on fire. Sounds like a darn good plan to me.

hahaha.
i reckon they would be kool when u turn them on and make something glow on ur bonnet. my car is white so paint a white coat into like the FORD symbol and when the blue light hits that paint it'll stand out. like fluro white paint. probably see them during the day too but just an idea. haven't done it.

Or you could use some sort of black light, and use the magic marker to write something on the bonnet. Have the black light on the dash shining accros the bonnet or something, and the there ya have yourself a nice magic looking ford logo or something.

GazzaED,
If you or the previous owner pf the car has used a silicon based product to “shine Up†any of the “plastic†parts, specially if they are made of Polyurethane, which majority of door handles, bumpers, washer jets etc. are made of, the UV from sun, burns the silicon and after a time depending on the how long you leave the car in the sun, all these bits go chalky. Any oil that you use on these bits will temporarily remove the chalkiness, but it will be back again. That is why on EBs they painted all the jets and door handles in black and the bumpers were “colour matchedâ€. It was not because they were creating a new trend by colour matching the bumper, it was to save face. Too many claims to dealerships regarding this problem. The best remedy to your problem is doing what manufacturer did, Paint them. So, if you want to repaint the jets and to avoid getting paint on the bonnet of your car make sure that you remove them from the bonnet. Then insert a needle in the jet nuzzle, sand it down and then paint them in the colour of your choice. Same applies to the door handles. AND, NEVER ever use any silicon based product like Armorall, either inside or on the outside of your car. Have fun, mavs19
