I never realised how annoying and how bloody hard to correct vibrating windshield wipers could be. The wipers on my car, a 1991 EB Fairmont Ghia has had problems with vibrations in the lower part of the wiper blade for the past few years. No noise is created just the blade seems to "shudder" at the lower edge.
Now I know most of you will say its because the blades need replacing, did that and one better replaced the wiper and the wiper blade assembly - still does it. Tried different types of blades - trico, etc - still does it. Cleaned the windshield with vinegar and dried with newspaper, etc -still does it. It annoys me so much that I don't bother with wipers unless it starts to pour. The other problems is the passenger side wiper arm never returns to the same place twice. Sometimes it finishes the sweep too high, sometimes just right, but never the same place. Can anyone help me with this or should I just continue not using my wipers. |

You say you used vinegar and dried it with newspaper.
I would highly recommend using RainX. Its like a wax coating for your glass. It makes water bead off the glass and creates a barrier for road grime and other s**t. It also fills in the microscopic imperfections in the glass making it incredibly smooth. I garauntee that if you put RainX on your window your wipers will cease to shudder. Just like polish and wax for your paint you need to keep applying every so often depending on your use of windscreen wipers and the amount of crap that ends up on your windscreen. |

I have tried wipers impregnated with carbon - it still shudders. As for Rain-X wouldn't use that s**t. I used it once before on another car I had and it just helped make the wipers skid across the windshield - I applied the stuff as directed.

Well then maybe your windscreen is too far gone. RainX works for me.
Maybe your wiper motors are crapping out. |

I said it was another car that I used it on my my current car. Even so I don't think I will ever try Rain-X again.
