just washed my car and noticed this little beauty on my tyre , what the hell is it and what caused it?, should the tyre company have to replace it?is it dangerous to drive on?, they are only a month old!
The tyres are 234/40/r18?

That looks like an "egg" in the tire. I would strongly advise you not to drive on that & put your spare on until you replace it.

assuming you havent hit a gutter to cause the side wall of the tire has given way on the inside

Looks like a belt is damaged, possibly snapped. Definitely dangerous get it replaced immediately. Take it back to where you bought it and they may replace it if it isn't caused by road damage i.e. hitting a kerb.

it just looks like the join in the tyre is coming away a bit i see it all the time just put it on the back and keep an eye on it . it will probably be fine. dont rush out and replace it unless it gets worse.

It is the 18" option xr8 rim straight off a ba xr8 on to my falcon, I think im gonna take the tyre off for now and put the spare on , i dont want the bloody thing blowing on me at some time, hopefully since they are so new i might have a chance of getting a replacement tyre for free, the guy at bob jane where i got them here is pretty good . Its what i get for getting cheap tyres i spose , if only 18" tyres were cheaper:)

are you talking about the tire has slightly moved away from the rim?
if so, i doubt it, because the egg is isolated. if the tire had moved from the rim, the egg would most likely be bigger and closer to the rim.

it looks to me like the metal bands inside the tire have snapped. happens with bikes occasionally....

there is no metal in the sidewall just poly ester matting that has to loin somewhere and sometimes at that spot on cheap tyres you get a small lump. as i said if it were mine it would go to the rear and monitored.

One of the cords has stretched in the side wall. Just looking at the rim there is no damage so it is a trye defect ie. not your fault. All good tyre companys offer a lifetime replacement of tyres if this happens. To cause this yourself you have to hit a kerb pretty hard: no corrosponding damage to the rim means tyre failure not driver failure.

Hit em up for a new tyre regardless of ks on it. 8-)

I reckon that's ur best bet, go down to Bob Jane and see what they say... I doubt they'll refuse to exchange it... Definately looks like a faulty product...
