I think its the XH ute. But its a XF body ute on ef front end. Well the bonnet bas a similar buldge to the BA. I am thinking of a BA bonnet bulge but i need a new bonnet anyway and i like the look of them

So question is.....Can the XH? Bonnet fit the old EF?

And on the other side i have never seen a EF with a XH bonnet.

10 bucks says it wont be a direct swap.

when grafting on the ef front to the xf ute body, they must have made some changes to it, otherwise, why wouldnt ford have just used the ef bonnet and saved some money on tooling?

Because of the kind of person i am im going to disagree because they didnt just bolt a grille on the fairmont. They reshaped the whole front end. BUT i think they couldnt be f**k chaning or making a total new front end for the XH so they put a different bonnet on. BUT i think that it may have been because the motor was a little tooooo high for the bonnet....

so the bets on? :P

be good if you could get your hands on an xh bonnet to give it a go before handing over the $$$. i still think it will be different, just like the front guards arent interchangeable

Hmmm ill ring up my old boss and see if he as a XH or a XH bonnet. If so he will let me swap them over to see what they are like.

You will find the XH bonnet won't match up to the windscreen, as the XH still used the old XD-XF wiper cowl. It's therefore got a straighter edge while the EF one curves around the windcreen. It might be possible to modify it to get it to fit, but it would require a lot of work

nope, they're shaped to line up to the old xd-xf doors, as the whole cabin was still the old shape. just from the screen forward

I'm well aware there are a few differences between the bonnets. That was just an example of one of the differences

WHS means 'what he said' - so I'm agreeing with you.
'there's a few differences between the bonnets' is pointed toward the thread originator. I could list every single difference, but there's no point, and the area you've mentioned is the most significant in terms of non compatibility.

any bets on this? I'd put $10 on that it fits as im pretty sure a mate i used to work in Darwin with replaced the bonnet on his ute with a ef bonnet.
