when the time comes to put an xr front end on the ef,
how do i fit the bonnet vents? how do i cut into the bonnet, or is it just worth buying a xr bonnet off a wreck and just using that? |

if you could get a bonnet that would save the hassel of getting vents and cutting.
guess it depends on how much you want to spend and how available a bonnet is

i looked into cutting, but no-one in perth was very 'up' on exactly where to cut etc - so i wasn't confident paying someone to f**k my bonnet up!
i waited, and scored an XR bonnet for $250

Cutting the bonnet for after market vents is no big deal. The important thing is to get a reference point the same on both sides, so they're not skew wiff.
Then, put down masking tape in the general area, do a profile of the outside of the vents, check them to see they're the same both sides and work out from there where you need to cut the bonnet to accommodate the holes. The important thing is take your time measuring. Cheers, Bob
