Saw an Ef/El fairmont today with a chrome tickford Fairmont grill, Fairmont bonnet...... but it had an xr front on it with twin headlights. Looked Super sexy and now I think I might have found what I was looking for when it comes to me doing the body of my Ef Fairmont. Will the Xr front bumper/ headlights fit under a Fairmont bonnet or has the bloke done some cut and paste work?

Where did you see it? There are only a few of them done like that I know of and they are all members here.
It most likely had a set of twinlights fitted to it.

Bet it was blue.
No such thing a a Chrome Tickford Grill. Only Tickford typr grill fitted to an E Series was the FBT and that was mesh into a EF Grill. XR front bars will not fit onto a Fairmont with the Fairmont bonnet. You can either replace the bonnet with an XR Bonnet/GLi and fit the XR lights or fit a Twinlights. Twinlights will give you better light that the XR Lights and way better than the Stock Lights. You can go to the trouble of doing a cut and shut XR to Fairmont bar but be prepaired either for a lot of work or a lot of money or both. |

Na mate this one was Heritage green, chrome guard covers and a chrome boot spear. Saw it up at katoomba. It was the same grill as whats on your Wagon Paul. The chrome grill was nice with the twin lights, but the chrome guards just was over kill for my taste. The front looked sporty yet classy with the 2 combined, I thought it had to be some work to do it or everyone would have done it by now... Turns out the respect I gave the front end of that car was worth it then.
What the twinlight set up you guys were talking about? |

Chrome Tickford grills were used on the Tickford Fairlane NL, pic below is how they came stock

ooooh, being new to the Blue oval scene these things arent my common knowledge..... I like them. The twin lights just make them look so much meaner I reckon. Do they come up on ebay cheap sometimes?
Sorry about the Fairmont/Fairlane stuff up. I remember now as I was tossing up between a 5L Fairlane with the same chrome grill I saw today and the stock Ef Fairmont i6. 5L lucked out as it was my entire budget with work to be done, so I buy the low k Fairmont and after a week it also ended up with work to be done |

{USERNAME} wrote: That's the one I was talking about! Very nice. 1 question though.. are the park lights still operable with the twinlight setup? If so do they still run through the low beam side?
