for my EF XR6, When the lights are on, there are only two lights (on one each side) used, whilst the smaller lights of the pair only works with high beams.

i was wondering if it would be possible to have all lights of the xr on (total of 4 lights o o o o ) instead of the two (one on each side).

is this possible.. if so how! cheers

you can, but the problem is the outter headlight beams (normal driving beams) are projector lights and have angled beams.

wherefor the highbeams are an open glass h3 bulbed beam (no projector) and are all over the shop. if you used them you would blind people :P

can they be replaced so that you can run both at the same time at night, and have them at reasonable brightness!?

i doubt you would find anything to fit, u could aim the high beams down then you would have no highbeams, even the BA's only have the one headlights on, doubt theres much you can do, i dont really see the point either

Easy. Using a relay you can set it up so that on high beam all four lights come on. On low beam it isnt advisable, but i would of thought that on high beam all four would come on from factory?

when i high beam all four lights come on which is normal.

what i was asking is whether it is possible to have all 4 driving lights on on normal mode... and whether you could change the inside light (the one thats only used for high beam) with a globe so that it can be used for normal driving.
i thought this might look pretty good.

XR FRONT

O__o_________o__O <-- XR lights

1---2-------------3--- 4

1 and 4 are normal, and 2 and 3 only come on when high beams are used. i want to have 1,2,3,4 when the lights are on. i know that its not advisable as 2 and 3 are just for high beams, but can you replace 2 and 3 so you can use it for normal mode.

Low beam lights are directional, high beams are not. Therefore, even if you put a lower wattage light in, it will still be fairly bright. Unless you went down to something like a 30W?

it would be possible to source 2 outer headlights (normal ones) and fit them to replace the high beams.
Then you would have to wire it up, but then you wouldn't have any high beams.

of course you could - wire it up so the center two are tapped into the low beam circuit and replace the globes so they are the same wattage as the low beams ... but you'd be f**k if you ever went out into an unlit area at night and wanted to see down the road any great distance so it begs the question why would you bother ?

well i dont really have the need to use high beams as i hardly drive in unlit areas... but ive seen how the the car uses only 2 lights for high beam (the outer lights) and it lights it up enough to see.

ill keep this in mind Happy thanks
