I didnt have to remove the blinkers as i masked them. Only needed 800 and 2000 grit wet and dry finished with Meguiar's fine cut cleaner and to really make them shine i then used Meguiar's quick wax.

if they arent too bad, u can try plexus to polish em up a bit. about 20 bucks from autobahn. just spray it on and buff it off. i did mine a few times and they came up pretty good, not a 100% but much less yellowing.

Guys sorry to bring up an old topic. But I used the document linked here to fix one of my headlights tonight. I was unable to get 2000 grit sandpaper, but other than that I followed directions correctly.
The headlight has come up s**t, very MISTY and nowhere near as clear and shiny as the one I haven't even done the procedure to! Was it that I didn't have the 2000 grit or what? I went to two hardware places (those huge a** warehouse ones) and max. they had was 1200 grit. Cheers.

1200 is fine. After that just use a paint cut & polish (T-Cut works well) to clear up the "mist". You do have to put some "elbow grease" into though.

Hmmm, I don't know much about polish eh, I picked up a normal hard shell dry turtle wax. Night was a bloody disaster. Broke one of my indicators while removing it. And now I have one slightly misty headlight and one that still looks quite clear and shiny. Grrr.

A place like repco will have the 2000 grit, thats what your missing, it will give you the last little bit of buffing to clear up the light and smooth it out

Anything that is just a mild polish or a wax will have little effect - you need an abrasive (cutting) polish.
You don't to take the lights out either - if you're worried about marking the surrounding area just mask it up with tape.
