Hi Guys,
I want to add the fuel flap release button to a 1992 EB Gli Falcon sedan - does anyone know if it's just a matter of adding the button on the dashboard or will I need a 'mid / high' series loom etc? Is the solenoid at the fuel flap end already there or do I need to add that too? Is it a bolt-in application or is this all too much effort for what it's worth Any help / direction appreciated! Anyone done this before or at least know if there is provision to do so without changing entire body looms over etc?

hey
i did it not to long ago I went to the wreckers and purchased the solenoid as i didnt have one , purchased the switch on the dash and wired it in with medium gauge wire , nothing to do with the body loom was quite simple also a EL wagon fuel lid looks a treat as there is no finger hole in it i taped into the fuse box to get the power , and ground can be any where in the boot as the car is one big wire of negative |

How did you wire the switch? Does the solenoid have mounting provisions? Good idea with the EL fuel flap - but it would obviously have to be resprayed. EF_wanabe wrote: hey

check behind the boot release button. if there's 2 plugs one will be for the wagon tailgate lock the other for the fuel flap.

Sorry Steve, Didn't see this til now. MY ED had everything except the switch and the solenoid. Once they were installed, it was plug and play.

Steve,
My ED GLi Classic had the wiring... Just needed the solenoid installed (two nuts as mentioned, you remove the fixed pin and replace it with the solenoid)... And the button (clip the blank out and the button in)... Both GLi dash and body loom supported it... I also have an EBII Loom in the shed at the moment... Will check the dash loom for the plug tomorrow and let you know... But as mentioned, the one phillips screw and it comes off and you can check yourself... If it is like the ED than you will have the plug already... Cheers, Tim

my eb1 xr and my ea s pack both had the wiring there, I just had to add the switch and solenoid... |
