lukas_bartko wrote: Thtat's the stuff Something like that would require custom seat brackets/rails as well as changing seating capacity to 4. Seat belts may need to be changed to suit the new buckets too. You need to start speaking with Vic roads engineer's & get told what he wants to see so that the thing will be road legal. At the end of the day, if this is going to be a street car, you must keep it legal, the risks are not worth it. Cheers ToranaGuy

I can't comment on the laws in the Eastern States, but I went through this in WA a few years ago with one of my limos.
The upshot was that I could remove 1 row of seats and seatbelts and replace them with a TV and bar without changing the registration. According to the dept it was fine to reduce the seating capacity and as long as all the factory mountings were still in place (even if not used) the MAXIMUM passenger capacity was still the same, however removing the seats and seatbelts meant that I temporarily reduced the capacity. Adding seats is a whole new ball game, then you do require engineering etc. You need to check with your licensing people first. |

NSW law is if you remove seats and seat belt you change the MAXIMUM passenger capacity to the number of remaining seats thus needing an engineer cert
