Hi,
I recently installed a cruise control myself to my territory , got the buttons , took off the airbag , cut a bit out in the cloumn , plugged in the buttons and away we went. Not bad considering they were going to charge me over $600 .... for a couple of buttons....lol.
Anyway we recently bought a Brand new Fiesta and are acquiring cruise to be put on this as well. Anyone know of if there are buttons available and is this done by similarity to the territory. Same deal they were going to sting me over $500 for an aftermarket offsite job.
Any help would be muchly appreciated.
p.s surely all the ghias wouldnt come off the production line without the cruise fitted. So i must be able to get the buttons.
CHEERS.

having worked at a ford dealer until 2 weeks ago i've never seen a fiesta with cruise control. The reason it is so simple in the territory is because the throttle is electric not cable and thus controlled by the ecu. Thus to have cruise control u just need buttons to tell the ecu what u want it to do, and the ECU needs to be setup to take it. Fiestas (unless theyve changed it in the new model which is *just* coming to australia now, have a throttle cable, not electric, and therefore require either a mechanical stepper motor, and associated controls, ecu and cables, or a vacuum actuator and controls etc...

a quick check on the ford website confirms the cruise is not an option on any fiesta, so id say you probably wont find a factory cruise setup for them. Unless u try the UK and then theres no guarentee it will all match up due to LHD-RHD conversion

according the the UK website its not an option there, altho u can get an AUX input socket like u can a BA, and automatic rain sensing wipers...

you're right about ETC xpression, the new WQ Fiesta does have electronic throttle control, but it's still not available (cruise)
