Just a question for the guys in the know. I want upgrade my high beams in my BA xr6 to 90-100W globes. Will my relay be able to cope with that much power or will I need to upgrade. Second question. Will I burn out my headlight with that much heat? I don't want to melt anything LoL
Thanks for any help. Let me see the light! Nathan |

dude thats a HUGE jump
need to clarify though are the 90-100w dual filimant globes? as teh standard dual filimant (H3) is a 55-60 with 55w beign the normal driving lights and the 60w being the High beams now if u got to a 90-100 dual filimant you will blind everyone on the road! if u are just upgrading the high beam globe i would get a 60w as the BA lights are plastic and anything rated higher could melt your lights if it is a case of not enough lights maybe a HID kit? or differetn style of globes

90/100 h4's will melt the plugs on the back of the globe and probably the wiring also, not to mention the polycarbonite lens of the headlight . I had them in my XE, and whilst they lit up the road extremely well, they also p****d too many people off and melted the plug and wires. A better option IMO, would be to get some better quality globes. Phillips Crystal Vision or something along those lines would be a huge improvement over standard, and also be safer for the wiring than higher wattage globes.

i would stay away from the crystal vision's, i had them in my ed and yes they light up the road very well but they dont throw the beam all that far. that and there terrible in the rain.

added to the fact i don't think 90-100 are road legal either, know i've seen a few but have had, not for road use on them

We had 90/100 in the BA taxi for a while, it melted the plug, and crystallized the lenses, they looked like a typical ef/el after about 6 months..... ended using the plus 50's and got the same amount of light.

i wouldn't the me AU had 100W globes and when i noticed the light was blown i saw that it was running 100W and the earth side of the plug was melted so i put some 55w globes in and replaced the loom bit.

I highly recommend trying Narva Blue Power +80% globes. You would get as strong a light as 100w, but with std power consumption, and the light is much whiter too. Yellow is crap.
I currently have some artic blue +50% globes and they are as much better than std as they say.
