hey just wondering if the tacho on a 6 cyl dash would work properly in a V8...has anyone done this ???

In EB/ED, yes it will work.. but the tacho reads 33% higher.

In EF/EL/AU it works fine, V8 and 4L clusters are 100% compatible.

you could also try fitting a V8 tacho into the I6 cluster (replacing the original unit)
