The system may have lost all of its gas.....

So it all seems to be working ok, just no cold air from the vents?

I got a similar problem with my ef. Only had it a couple months but i pretty much have to have the aircon on max to get any decent cool air coming out. Think it just need regasing. Next time u get service make sure they do re-gasing and just let em know. Dont know how much it is though

If it's outta gas, the hi/lo pressure switch is activated, and the clutch won't engage when switched on.
If it does and no cold air, evaporator

Could also be the pressure switch. You can hotwire it, run it for a few mins to see if you cold air, and if so, leave it wired.

This happened to me!

there's a single wire near the front of the compressor, run it straight to 12V and see if the comp kicks in

i have a few problems with my fan/ac every now and then. a nice hot day, the temp insode the cabin is 55+ degrees throw the air con on max and frigidly cold and then it makes a "whoop whoop whoop" (like helicopter blades) and then it dies.

could it be the heat just killing it cuz it has been working fine in the cooler days lately.

The pressure switched is located on the passengers side, close to the fire wall. It's a goldeny cyllinder with two electrical tabs, and the switch goes into rectangular metal block with other lines. If the clutch test works, and you think you have gas in it, pull the connector for the switch, and join the two metal tabs (in the connector, not on the swirch itself!).
This way it completes the circuit, allowing cool refreshing air to be coming into the cabin - If you haven't lost gas!!!

Of course, if there's no cool refreshing air coming into the cabin - you're outta gas!!!

However - If you do get it regressed, connect the switch as it should be, and it doesn't cool the cabin down - then your switch has s**t itself. Only way to fix it is to:

Replace the switch, and lose the $65 it cost you to get it gassed, or

Bypass the switch as I mentioned earlier. The only downside to this is: If the motor gets hot, and your running the aircon full blow, the gas inside the compressor heats up so much that the centre of the vortex within the compressor breaks (due to pressure) as the hi/lo pressure switch is meant to control. All I did was run a switch (from inside) so that I could run the thermo's on full bore, with the aircon on, when it was 30degs+ days.

Never had a prob with it after that.

Maybe like the previous posts have said," Could be outta of Gas!" A/C re-gassing costs from $80-120. From any Auto-Electrical place I think?

AK47 - Your heater tap could also be stuck open. Happens frequently.
