Also chucked in a few red filters and a custom dial facia. It lights up very red at night

i like the white dash becuase it matches the outside of the car.

The Climate Control unit was a bit more difficult becuase it had to be pulled RIGHT apart. But worth it in the end. I like the way the NA climate control units light up with the green LEDs under the buttons and how the temp is displayed in big numbers.

The red LCD screens were piss easy. Its only red filters with the original globe. (No LEDs)

What did u use for the filter paper? Just red paper? and nothing else at all? Is the speedo well lit in daylight?

dude. i soooo want to do that. (only blue) ive always wondered why ford used that crappy orange. (was it ever cool looking?)

so is it just a white globe with orange filters and u just rip them off and replaced them with red (or blue) filters

also what did u use for the filter.

cheers ben

just folder divider paper. I was going to leave it orange but then i saw some of this paper in my mums office and i flogged it LOL. I can't stress how easy it is to get good results with red. Blue is way harder and more expensive.

I have the variable illumination set at maximum brightness and it is lit very nicely during the day. (its as good as original)

yeah, should clean up nicley. Better then the filthy grey ones which are f**k impossible to keep clean, especially after a days work!!

for a luxo car, orange is quite acceptable, don't forget back in 1991 your average 50 year old wouldn't like blue or red lights on his dash at night. So orange was choosen to appeal to the majority of owners

Its only becuase of us young fellas that we strive to improve on perfection

also, see my previous post regarding what materials i used

cheers

there is no orange paper its just a white panel behind there to prevent the screen from becoming transparent when the numbers come on. (easy to understand if you know how a LCD works)

the orange light is actually the working of the globe all on its own.

What i did was replace the white panel with red folder paper. IF i left both the white panel and red filter in it would be hard for the light to get through meaning it would light up really dark which is not cool at day time. Especially with a digital speedo

with blue LEDs i recommend that you KEEP the white panel and use f**k loads of blue LEDs. LEDs are harder becuase they don't spread light very well. I wanted a quick mod becuase i can't afford to have this car pulled apart for long periods of time :x

Hmm i like the look of a red dash, looks a bit nicer then blue. Ill just do blue footwell lights and courtesy lights. Im colourblind anyway i actually thought the dash lights were green haha
