I've got a 2001 au xr6 ute without passenger side srs airbag... Is it possible to install an airbag into my car without too much drama?

I'm assuming the wire harness is the same for cars with vs without, so my simple thinking wonders if I can I can buy one install it... Plug it in... And reprogramme the ecu?

Possible?

Well, I added a passenger air bag to my AU xeries I XR6 without a problem, the harness SHOULD be there and the air bag monitor is the same for one or 2 air bags. It SHOULD be no problem as you have a high series BCM.

It means Body Control Module, it is located under the dash on the left side of the steering column.

By referring to series he was actually referring to trim level. There were 3 levels, base mid and high. Base was the forte, mid was the futura, and high was the fairmont, ghia, fairlane, ltd, and xr falcons.
