The cruise module receives data re speed from the cluster so in effect the speed indicated by your speedo is what the cruise module is using to SET the speed at when you push the button. BenJ I meant a readout of what speed was set, e.g. when you press coast and want to reset the speed.

well you could always put a touch on/off button switch under the set button which would power the led ...
but that would be way to easy... stuff it i have a couple of little button switches in the garage maybe ill rig it up and if it works ill make a doco for it... would that help? |

you could easily make an led to tell the cruise is set with 12v running to the module.
as for setting with digital read out ie: set to 112kph would be very detailed.

As already mentioned, the problem with that is that the "set" light would not auto cancel with the brake lights or brake switch on the m/cylinder.

Get's messy just for one little LED

I haven't looked into it, but, the unit is provided with 12v, when the cluster reports above 40kph, it becomes active when on is depressed.
like i said, I haven't looked into it, but I assume there a stepper motor in there and requires voltage at all time to engage, trial an error, If i were keen I'd raise the car, remove the rear wheels and lock cruise on at 40 and poke around for a constant (5+v) when active and steal it.

That's the train of throught I was following. I assumed there'd have to be some form of stepper motor for the cruise to engage once on and hoped I could tap into that. But it's really not that big of an issue for me... I hoped it'd be fairly obvious from looking at a wiring diagram...
